Welcome to Haakinson-Groulx Mortuary, Rainier

Haakinson-Groulx Mortuary, Rainier was established in 1898. The original home of a local dentist whose sister later died in 1928. The building was then purchased from the estate by a man who’s last name was Ball and then transformed into a Funeral Home. It was owned and operated by the Ball Family until Mr. & Mrs. Gail Haakinson purchased the Rainier Funeral home in 1958. Mr. & Mrs. Gail Hakinson remained sole owners until they sold the businesses to Mr. & Mrs. Malcolm Groulx in January of 1979.

Many changes have since occurred, outside as well as inside. What used to be two separate buildings are presently joined as one. Many improvements and additions have been added over these past 15 years. We have tried to retain as much of the original appearance as possible.
